Let me tell you a story...

BIO

It all began back in 2007. That year, after more than a decade of furtively practising individually at home (poor neighbours), the band tentatively ventured forth to a well-known Glasgow rehearsal studio – one with massive amps and, mercifully, effective sound-proofing.

After two years of what can charitably be described as weekly experimental free-form rock and blues improvisation – and questionable cover versions that thankfully no-one else heard – The Jix were finally unleashed live on stage in June 2009.

Since their energetic debut gig at Glasgow’s Ivory Blacks, the band have trodden the boards at a number of the city’s other famous music venues, including The Barrowlands, Nice N Sleazy and the O2 ABC (now sadly gone).

The Jix have written and recorded their own original (and, some might even say, catchy) songs for more than a decade. With a new rhythm line-up in place, the band are positively champing at the bit to get back into the studio and onstage.
